MG MGA - MPG Normal
Some of you may remember that I have been having poor fuel consumption in my motor. In the last year it has varied between 16 and 22 MPG a tank load. A couple of months or so ago I discovered that the rear filter box was bolted on upside down, blocking an air balancing hole on the carb flange face. I also spent a lot of time cleaning the carb pistons and housing, ensuring everything slid perfectly and clunked on closure, making sure the piston lift was properly syncronised. Seems to have paid off. Latest figues show MPG has risen to 27.30MPG. Steve |

Steve, sounds great! Out of interest, what engine/carb setup have you got>? I'm fitting a big engine to mine, and it'd be a useful refernce point. Cheers, Grant :-) |

Grant I am running an 18V. I transferred all my MGA 1500 standard kit across and retuned. Steve |
