It was a great event with lots of great people and great cars attending. The cameraderie was refreshing, owners with concours cars and owners of "as found" cars enjoying each others' MGs for what they were. It was great to see EX-186 up close, but for me the highlight was the Sebring MGA, UMO95. The other highlight was taking a close look at Twin-Cam Coupe 500CRR and hearing it's early rally history from it's long-time owner/restorer. The road trip through the mountains to the town of Lilooet was something else with close to 100 MGs running the challenging road. There were long sweeping high speed turns and tight corkscrews and hairpins. For those who drove fast, cars were pushed to the limit (You could smell hot brakes on the downhills)and for those who chose to take their time there was breathtaking scenery around every bend. We also had the comforting knowledge that we had a flat-bed towtruck bringing up the rear. The banquet at the Whistler Conference Centre was superb with a spectacular setting, wonderful food and good company. The speaker for the night was witty and entertaining and the prize-giving didn't drag on too long. The organisers really deserve kudos for putting on a fun and well-run event. Cheers, Rich |

Great pics, Rich - and good thing you didn't include any from the Monday (it rained!) |

Rich, Thanks for sharing your GREAT pictures - even without the one showing me getting an award, they'd still be great! 8^) I love the shots taken through your ZA windscreen! Your thoughts on the show, too, are enthusiastically shared. It was a great time - the only flaw being my lack of time to examine your supercharged ZA more carefully. Ah, but wait til next time, right? ' Sure was great to meet you. Allen |

Thank you for your very kind comments Rich and Allen. The GT32 team did good! But the cars and people who came to Whistler made the event. Wew hope to put photos on the GT32 web site soon, so watch out for these. Hope everyone made it home safely, and so sorry to hear about Steve Meline's car being stolen. Peter Tilbury. |

I didn't hear about Steve's car-Do you have any more details. If it was local we could keep a watch out for it. Rich BTW: It seems that MG2009 will be in Colorado. With such a central location the event should attract MG owners from both coasts. Myself, I am already looking forward to it! Unfortunately GT-33 in Pennsylvania will be farther than I am able to travel but Colorado should be no problem. |
