I can't see the anti-roll bar (swaybar). It it just my eyesight? I thought it was a standard item on the 1600 MK11. Mick |

Mick, I have had two Mk11's and neither had an antiroll bar. Barry Gannon (still a tourist and making good use of Steve's computer!!) |

Hi Barry, Yes, the Service Parts List shows that the anti-roll bar was optional for the 1600 MK11, but standard fitment for the 1600 MK11 Deluxe with the four wheel disc brakes, from chassis number 91240. The anti-roll bar was standard on the Twin Cam from chassis number 2275. Mick |

Mick, My DeLuxe #108274 did not have a sway bar attached when I purchased it in 1976. Could it have been removed by a PO? Maybe but not likely. I added one during the restoration 2 years ago. Mark |

Hi Mark, I suppose it is just another of those things the the MG factory did to confuse people. There have always been variations between cars and between cars and the documentation. The Service Parts list for the 1600 MK11 Deluxe with four wheel disc brakes shows it as changing to the anti-roll bar (swaybar) at chassis number 91240. I cannot find a Service Memorandum for the change on the Deluxe, but I have attached one for the Twin Cam. Mick |

My 62 1600MK11 #102154 (painted black being assembled) Has the cutouts in the frame extensions for a sway bar but did not come with one. The color looks great on this one. Every time a see one with those lights on the rear I like them more. Better sleeker look IMHO. |
