MG MGA - Nicest MG on the Planet?
OK, that's how they're advertizing it...you be the judge. Oh, it's a really nice car, but, $39,000? Yeah, I'm sure there is that much in it, but in a hard core concours show this would not be a 100 point car, in my opinion. http://sportscargallery.com/1958%20MG-A%201500%20Roadster.htm GTF |

Certainly not the nicest and that's (the description) the most annoying thing about a very nicely restored car. Certainly nowhere near a 100 pointer, but nice nevertheless and in my view probably worth the asking price. There are still things that probably need sorting or might be annoying, like the lack of door seals, windscreen seal fit, wiper position, soft-top fit, front bumper fit and the somewhat unique approach to pipe, cable and electrics routing and fastening. And where is the horn? (behind the front grille on the right and painted red?) The paintwork and panel fit is not the best, but I suspect it would satisfy most. However, I do like the fact that the radio blank is not in MGB crinkle finish. While it still needs a close inspection and test it would not be possible to have a car restored to this standard for the asking price... |

Odd, the link I posted works fine everywhere but on this site. Hmmmmmmmnnnn.... GTF |

engine colour is very wrong, if it is the same colour as the car. And "Colorado Red" - what's that? As already noted, some unusual fuel and oil pipe routing, and an MGB oil filler cap and MGB black label on valve cover. Still a good effort at restoration and the minor things can be corrected. But a very optimistic asking price, in my opinion. Peter. |

the tappet clearance tag is on the wrong way round. (just picking nits...it's not concours perfect, but a very nice car) JIM in NH |

Hi guys if you are daft enough to advertise a car as "the nicest on the planet" then you must be prepared for it to be pulled apart by everyone, as everyone on here says nice car but nothing special would like to see the "original tool kit" Gordon |

I would never give 100 pts to any MG with CHROME WW, no matter how "nice." |
