MG MGA - Nuts & bolts info.

Some time ago I saw a list of nuts and bolts for an MGA. Does anyone know where this info. is? I'm restoring a Twin Cam motor and most of the nuts and bolts are the same.

Don,

Do you have a mga twin cam Service Parts List?
If the nuts and bolts are standard BMC parts there is a list to decipher the part numbers. This is all you are likely to find for the Twin Cam motor. However, many of the Twin Cam motor parts are not of the BMC standard parts.
If you are talking about nuts and bolts for the whole car, I know that there is a spreadsheet somewhere. I would just have to find it.

The MGA Register of the MGCC used to publish a book with all sorts of MGA articles in it including the nut and bolt info. Just had a look on their site and did not spot it. I have the book at home. If no one supplies you with the data in the next 12 hours I will scan the article for you tonight.

As mentioned by Mick, if you'll take the parts manual you can make a list of every fastener in the motor as well as the entire car. With this you can source new parts. If you didn't see the recent thread about anit-seeze, you"ll want to get this book I mentioned "Carroll Smith's Nuts, Bolts, Fasteners and Plumbing Handbook" www.amazon.com/gp/product/0879384069.

I have a list of the size and placement of every nut, bolt, and washer on an MGA coupe. I got it off the internet and have reorganized it. It is on a spreadsheet, Quattropro, or Excel, which ever you can open. I would try to include it here but, 1. I don't know how, and 2. it is three pages long. If you want it email me and I will uploade it to you.

I have it here: http://mgaguru.com/mgtech/restore/rt104b.htm

This is a fastener list for the standard MGA Coupe, so it will not include the roadster windscreen or hard tops or the Twin cam engine or competition suspension parts.

Don,
