MG MGA - Oil
I see that there is now a Castrol Edge synthetic oil for classic cars - extra zinc. 5W/50 grade, from Canadian Tire. |

Googling that, there doesn't seem to be a lot of support for it, Art. Castrol still sell there normal "Classic" oils and haven't tagged that one on the end. Not many users need the ability to run multi-000's miles on their oil, and I seriously wonder whether synthetic's inability to "bed in" components really suits old engines. Synthetics have always been a "no-no" and I wonder whether this is any different. |

I keep away from synthetic in an old engine - and isn't 5W a bit thin anyway. I use Valvoline VR 20/50 -my oil pressure holds up well in a hot engine on the motorway doing 70. |
