MG MGA - Oil/Water Gauge Query
The water needle on my oil/water gauge reads mid-scale with engine off. I know the gauge is bad because the PO installed a cheap aftermarket gauge under the dash. I got a cheap gauge off Ebay but its sending unit was broke off. Can I attach simply remove the sending unit off the old gauhe and attach it to the new gauge or do I need to have the gauge professionally repaired. Thanks |

The sender unit bulb and tubing I believe are filled with an alcohol and need to be sealed and calibrated professionally. You can fit a new similar MGB gauge, but it will probably have a SMITHS dial on it instead of Jaeger. People here in the UK can restore the old gauges, I'm sure somebody can do the same in the US.
