Yes, it was flooded. But other than that, it looks mighty fine. The owner claims to have flushed the engine, gearbox and fuel tank. I asked him if he'd done the diff, too. He says yes.

Having played my usual game of "Spot the mistakes", about all I can spot is a missing licence plate bracket, Windshield washer (optional). It apears to have the windshield header clip from the MkII along with the chrome speaker surround from the same.

Under the hood isn't the prettiest, but I've seen worse. Incorrect rad cap and missing hose to heater.

No mention of a top or sidecurtains, but i guess in Key West, they're not really needed. But the paint and interior doesn't seem to have suffered too badly under the Florida sun.

Anyone spot something I've missed?

Let the game begin.

Derek- I for one would be worried because since it was the Keys it could have been a storm surge flood. Salt water would not have been good for MR Lucas. You really would need to go and see it. Just my 2cents, Gary

By the look of the rusty parts, I'd say it was salt water. That car won't be on the road long with salt inside every nook and cranny of the frame and body.

Gary is right. A year ago this month (October) Wilma was a late season tropical storm that washed over the Keys and grazed South Florida. The lower Keys had three feet of storm surge. I fear this car now has corrosive salt water dried into every nook and cranny. Think of all the places inside your MGA into which salt water could get if your car fell into the ocean and was immersed. I fear this car is doomed to a long, slow, but sure death sentence that no amount of stripping, flushing, washing or other attempt at neutralizing will be able to fully remove or stop. How sad. I would not have paid $4500 for this car as the "successful bidder" has done.

Didn't sell, reserve not met. At least the seller tried to save it and revealed that it had been flooded. I wouldn't think it was worth as much as was bid either, considering the probability of SALT water damage.
