MG MGA - Old Age Pensioner
Just made that 65th milestone. I thought you might like to see my daughter's birthday card to me. The words read: Dad, just like an old vintage car.... You may be a bit rusty round the edges and need a bit of loving care and restoration But with each year that passes, the more classy, refined and distinctive you become! I wondered why she was interested a few months ago in my MGA archive pictures. ahhhh... Steve |

Congratulations Steve - join the club - excellent card . You share the same birthday as my father who would have been 100 today. |

Yes, Congratulations on that milestone! Very nice sentiment expressed by your daughter. I'll be joining "the Club" in about two weeks. My daughters (I have two) have asked what I might like as a birthday gift. Well....I expect my coupe to be back from the paint shop about that time, what more could I ask for! Cheers to the "65 Club" George |

Congratulations mate! Still a 'boy racer', sometime anarchist, 21 year old at heart, fly-by-the-seat-of-the-pants enthusiast and you don't look a day over .... well, 65! Keep at it Steve! Barry |

Congratulations Steve Ive just passed 70 and still feel 21 (well almost) especially blasting in the MG -Just fitted a new rear shock absorber (The arm came off on the way back from Angouleme managed to hammer it on to get home)-getting out from under the car is not so easy as it was 50 years ago!!! Congratulations Steve on your 65th birthday. Another four and you'll catch up with me. Many happy returns. Frank |

Congratulations and many happy returns of the day! Now you have your bus pass, you won't be needing the car...I can take care of it if you like! It's OK to be compared to a classic car when that car is ten years younger than you! |
N McGurk |
Neil Had the bus pass for 5 years. Second stub stack on the lathe being parted off. Should be posting to you within the the week. Steve |

SG - let us know when you're ready to start shipping stub stacks for the rest of us. Nice little retirement side business/hobby, maybe... JIM in NH |

Conratulations and Many Happy Returns upon reaching Middle Age. You will know when you are getting really old as the car will revert back to having a hood. |

Got a similar internet bithday card through Moonpig from my daughter when I was 60 Steve, comparing me to my MGA. Except that it wasnt quite so complimentary. I sort of expected her to say that, like the MGA, I was in great shape and still looked pretty good after all those years. Instead, the comparisons were more like :- "Still rattling along after all this time" "Odd leathery /petrol smell" "Inclined to leave unexpected stains wherever he parks!" I think I must have upset her when I parked the MGA on her brand new white concrete drive and it left its usual oil drip from the rear bearing and a rusty puddle from the radiator overflow. I really must stop topping the rad up! Happy Birthday Steve |

Congrats. I too celebrated the 26th anniversay of my 39th birthday. Love being retired. I still work but only part time. It's great to work because you want to NOT because you have to. We've earned it cheers Gary |
