MG MGA - Pacific NW Engine Rebuilder?

I lost either a connecting rod bearing or a main bearing, so it's time to do some rebuild work. I'm looking for a machine shop familiar with MG motors that I can work with on the rebuild. Since there hasn't been any significant work done on my motor in at least 30 years, I'll need help sorting what needs to be done. I'll definitely read Barney's website in the course of the project.

I live near Seattle, but I'm definitely willing to travel to get the work done right. Any recommendations?

DJ,

Autosport in Seattle is recommended by many of the MG Car Club NW Centre members. http://autosportseattle.com/ I have never had the pleasure of using their services.

DJ,
I had Autosport rebuild my engine a few years back. I visited their website a moment ago to refresh my memory. Brad the front desk man, knowes MGs. The machinist Terry, has a bright yellow MGB. Both great people to work with. They gave me a price to rebuild the engine. The end bill came to a little more, but that was because I needed new head bolts, had my flywheel lightened, drilled for a MGB clutch and I had them install new studs in the exhaust manifold. Timeline to get it done, was right in line with what was quoted. No surprises with this shop. I can't say you will be able to work alongside them, but give them a call. I see they moved from downtown Seattle to out near the Ballard Bridge, ...downtown was a pain to find parking.
