MG MGA - Pandora's Box Opened
Ok now I've "f" it up. I tried to do the aluminum buildup my self, which didn't take. Off to the welder for a try....for $20 what the heck. So I seemed to to have melted something inside the dizzy. Based on a complete disassembly (yes, yes day late, dollar short) and the shop manual it appears there was a spacer between the body of the distributor and the last plate on the shaft (under the counterweights. What do we know about that part? Moss doesn't appear to sell a replacement. Here are the pertinant numbers from the distributor 40510 H BN238 160 (made in January 1960) |
