MG MGA - Pentronix reply
Pentronix Tech. Dept says .. ( Ref. Hi voltage coils and wide plug gaps ) that the rotor failure is down to the current crop of new rotors , principally the ones with rivets. They have their own design and manufacture. To be ultra consertive they say plus 5 thou. on the plug gaps is very safe. I run 34 with Iridium plugs. The plugs need 5k less voltage to fire. Sean |

Any modern black rotor should be viewed with suspicion. Go for a red one like those supplied by Advanced distributors or one that's more than 30 years old! |
