I am glad I'm an ocean away. I would hate to be trampled in the rush to buy it. |

Certainly an original conversion - but I don't think I'll be making the short trip over to Darwen to see it!! |

Just sent the URL to a lady who moved over here (with her parents when she was a child) and drove a Hillman when she was a teenager. She has often said that she would like to have a Hilman again - I think that I will come over there before she opens the URL. Cheers - Dave |

Well it is certainly different! I used to run a Hillman Imp Sport back in the 70s which had a rally tuned 998cc engine which developed 95bhp at 7000 rpm. It was immense fun as a road car and I loved it. The engine was so light weight that I carried the engine block in one hand and the crankshaft in the other hand and took them with me on the bus to get them machined for an engine rebuild! Even with a standard roof fitted it was never blessed with lots of headroom and with the chopped Batman roof this would take some really creative thinking to get me into it. I think the only way that I could drive it is to have myself cut in half at the waist and sit my upper half on the passenger seat! A bit messy but that way I could be both Batman and Robin at the same time. For some reason, Im still not tempted to bid! Colyn |

Note that even Batman and Robin are running away from it! Rutger |
