MG MGA - Price for a 1600 engine block core?
A buddy of mine needs a 1600 engine block with big end caps. Its for a customer of his. What in your estimation is a fair price these days? I have what he needs just want some imput as to appraise a reasonable value. Thanks ahead of time Steve D! Its just the bare block and end caps. Bores will clean up at .020 over. |

Hard to say. When you do not need one they seem to be all over but when you need on you can't fine one. I am looking for one now and would pay 3 to 5 hundred for one but I am cheep. |

3 to 5 hundred should buy you a complete engine! |

I pair 100 USD for one complete with crank, con rods and pistons last year. I can normally get a 1622 rebuild candidate with head for 200 used or less |

Hi, I've got a used 1600 long block in Calgary. The engine was poorly rebuilt by a local shop and needs to be sleeved ( I think) but the head is in fine shape. Let me know if you still need one and I can figure out shipping, etc. I would take $300 for it plus shipping costs... |
