MG MGA - proper routing of speedo cable-1500?

I disconnected mine to romove the engine and trans. Now that I'm putting things back to gether it seems I can't recall how it gets routed from the hole in the firewall to the transmission.

All advice appreciated.

The speedo cable goes over or across the 'shelf', behind the engine at about rocker box level and down past the starter motor.
Make sure it doesn't touch the exhaust manifold at the back of the engine! The 'plastic' covering melts!
I hear a rumour that Barney Gaylord has a neat diagram of all this on his site.
