MG MGA - Radiator Hoses
Hi guys, Does anyone know where I can find good quality radiator hoses like the fabric covered or at least reinforced ones? The last set I bought from a famous supplier were just solid rubber, stamped "MADE IN ENGLAND" and cracked and split within a year. I am currently using a hoses cut from a Mitsubishi kei car (small less than 1000cc engine) but would like to replace them as these came from a salvage yard as a temp solution. |

Hi Tom. Moss sells stock type rubber hoses that seem to last pretty well. They also sell kevlar reinforced hoses that are supposed to be much stronger and last much longer than regular hoses. The kevlar hoses are about double the price, but if they are as good as stated, would likely be worth the additional cost. I havent tried the kevlar hoses myself, so cant comment on quality or longevity. Cheers! GLenn |

I put a kevlar hose on my MGB over 3 years ago and the new owner is still using it - Cheers Cam |

Tom, If you spray all your hoses with rubber lubricant occasionally they won't crack. Mine look as good as new and have been on the car some time. Phil Parmenter |

Tom I had a set from Brown and Gammons a few weeks ago, to put onto a friend's early B. They were perfect and just like the ones on my A which are now 5 years old. I replaced the ones on the A (which were again identical) only because of their age (about 13 at the time) and I am a great believer in preventative maintenance. |
