MG MGA - Raptured Oil filer Assembly
Earlier this year I reported my aftermarket oil filter assembly was raptured (maybe by the ditch as that is where I saw it last heading). Thought I would do follow up. Since then I have replaced it with an MGB inverted oil filter assembly and hose as per Barney's website. I was worried about engine issues as I dumped the oil in a rather short stretch but everything seems okay. Interestingly, my oil pressure has jumped about 15 psi and the temperature has not exceeded 190, even with some this god awful weather, since then. It never overheated previously, but ran about 10 degrees warmer. Life is good. |

So Bill, you are now experiencing true oil filter "rapture" (ecstatic joy or delight)!...LOL GTF |

does the new assembly have less restritions? what would be the reason for increased oil pressure? different brand of filter (with no internal spring loaded valve perhaps?) I am curious because I have a Moss type hanging-down oil filter mount and a Swix (?) filter. I get 60ish PSI when fully warm. Can your filter make that much of a difference? I had not heard that. Thanks... JIM in NH |
