MG MGA - Removing Flywheel
The workshop manual says one must remove the main bearing cap to remove the flywheel bolts. Is that correct or can the flywheel be removed without messing with the bearing cap? (Plus, can the flywheel be properly put back in without removing the bearing cap?) Thanks! |

The flywheel bolts are a press fit, and are inserted from the side opposite the flywheel. To remove the flywheel from the engine, you just have to remove the flywheel NUTS. The only reason to remove a flywheel bolt is to replace a damaged one. |
