MG MGA - Rotor Arms

Hi,
Does anyone know of a source for decent rotor arms in the UK. There is a lot of rubbish about apparently. Seem to recall that somebody in the US was selling good ones.

I haven't used these, but kept a bookmark when they were recommended on the forum a while ago.

You may be thinking of these: http://advanceddistributors.mybisi.com/product/0/4-Cylinder-ignition-rotor_404915.html

I've heard good thing about Advanced Distributor, and sent them my dizzy to have the once over.

If I thought that modern replacement rotor arms were faulty (Of which I have never had such an experience) then the second case of the rotor arm made without the rivet would be my choice. I would suspect that the few that fail would be as a result of the rivet and subsequent machinig of the plastic. IMO

Probably, as you don't own an MGA!!!!! Or it may be the trade ganging up against you. Lol

Back to the thread, like Bob I have never ever ever had a problem with a rotor arm. Am I just lucky? Therefore, I have absolutely no experience in buying replacements.

I fitted a brand new distributor when I finally finished my Coupe last September, and the rotor arm gave up the ghost after 7 [seven] miles.

I read the then current thread about Jeff Schlemmer's newly produced rotor arms and I ordered two which arrived very promptly and cost around £10.00 all in. So far [500 miles] doing OK.

Bob and Steve, I believe that you are both living on borrowed time. I was like you once myself, until I had my one and only rotor failure. Fortunately I had a spare with me. I always carry a full set of ignition parts/pieces with me in the boot.

Hi ,
Thanks very much for the info guys. I must admit that I have never had a problem with a rotor arm either but I keep reading about the people that have and I must be getting a bit paranoid!
Cheers
