MG MGA - Santa Barbara Concourse
Well, I pulled the trigger and am now detailing my MG for the Santa Barbara Concourse on Sunday. Actually, I'm at the computer but I will soon be in the garage. Observation: It is more fun to drive the car than to exhaustivelyly prep the car for a show. Wish me luck.

David Get that tooth brush going to remove the muck from the tyre treads! I am sure the rest of the vehicle will be immaculate. It is the minor stuff that divides the winner from the also rans. Rather you than me. Best of luck. Looking forward to seeing a photo of the rosette on the windscreen. Steve Ps. I guess you meant concours. Concourse is an open space! |

Good luck David - how about an underbonnet photo to show the detailing. |

Hi David lovely car but is your exhaust tailpipe pointing down instead of the "correct" up at 2 o'k clock position could be vital points lol and need photo of concours tool kit Gordon (carless and clueless) |

GC .. You are correct. His DONGLE is DAngling. Sandy |

Hi Sandy you do realise the reason he hasn't responded yet is because at this moment he's lying under the car trying to turn the back box around lol Gordon |

You guys crack me up. Concours I guess that tells you how much I pay attention to the concours on the concourse, Steve... And Gordon, ahem... my dongle is at the proper two o'clock (photo illusion) And Gordon again, Yes, that is why I did not respond until now... What a pain to clean a non-trailer MG I'll see about uploading some pics from the event even If it's not me driving across the awards stage. Thanks for the encouragement. |

For Gordon. Actually this is an old shot to tide you over until I do a photo shoot late this afternoon.

Well I came in last in show. An MGA 1600 took the class with a Morgan hardtop second and an Aston Martin third. I'm glad I did this but will not rush headlong into doing this again soon. Much more fun to drive the car than to clean it up to the degree that I did for the show. Will post some photos later. Thanks for the encouragement. |

I think that is great news David as there are 2 types of owners 1 show fanatics 2 MGA enthusiasts I have found on many occassions that I am not prepared to put in the money or effort required to produce a car that would win a concours event. However I love to put in the effort required to have a car that I can really enjoy. I love my car and don't give a hoot what someone else thinks. I am sure you love yours too. |

Good effort David - underbonnet looks spotless - with original hoseclips too - I think I threw most of mine away!! |
