MG MGA - S & H Filters
My 1500 came with Stellings & Hellings air filters (Moss 223-200.) All they have in them for a cleaner element is a bit of what looks like fiberglass. It seems there should be something more like a foam or paper element but I can't tell from the Moss catalogue what should be inside. Anybody hae these and can tell me what goes inside to do the cleaning? Thanks! |

Im sure there are many opinions on this, but I would not use those as they are very shallow and are really very restrictive. If you are unable to find an original set. If you want to improve the breathing - try the nice K&N - even though they look modern - you can change that by painting the filter lid and base plate black. |

A shame not to use those nice, shiny S & H housings though. I wonder if you could find a filter from another application (but the right diameter but thicker) that could be sandwiched between the 2 parts of the S & H? You'd have to figure out some different fasteners. I know I'd give it a try before giving up on them. K&N's web site has a page with the dimensions of all of their filters. I was actually able to find a K&N filter that fit into the oil bath air filter housing on my ZA. Rich |
