MG MGA - S & H Filters

My 1500 came with Stellings & Hellings air filters (Moss 223-200.) All they have in them for a cleaner element is a bit of what looks like fiberglass. It seems there should be something more like a foam or paper element but I can't tell from the Moss catalogue what should be inside.
Anybody hae these and can tell me what goes inside to do the cleaning?
Thanks!
Steve

Im sure there are many opinions on this, but I would not use those as they are very shallow and are really very restrictive. If you are unable to find an original set.

If you want to improve the breathing - try the nice K&N - even though they look modern - you can change that by painting the filter lid and base plate black.

A shame not to use those nice, shiny S & H housings though. I wonder if you could find a filter from another application (but the right diameter but thicker) that could be sandwiched between the 2 parts of the S & H? You'd have to figure out some different fasteners. I know I'd give it a try before giving up on them.

K&N's web site has a page with the dimensions of all of their filters. I was actually able to find a K&N filter that fit into the oil bath air filter housing on my ZA.
