MG MGA - Side Curtain what is it?
I purchased a car for restoration and also received a parts car. Along with the cars was a set of side curtains (see image) that are not MGA. I have been unable to identify these side curtains and wonder if anyone would know what they belong to. I’m also wondering if anyone would know where I could find a pair of brackets/clips for my MGA side curtains that would prevent them from blowing out when traveling at speed. Thanks for any suggestions.

To keep the side curtains from blowing out i mate a small aluminum bracket from a screen door that is screwed to the sidecurtain about 1" from the top and slides behind the edge of the windshield pillar when the door is closed |

Jerry, I would say they are homemade s/screens, made rather roughly, for MGA. They were unobtainable years ago so people made their own. Sometimes badly! JH re your comment -- "small aluminum bracket from a screen door that is screwed to the sidecurtain about 1" from the top and slides behind the edge of the windshield pillar" -- the original screens had this bracket. Most have been removed during a rebuild and never replaced. Barry |

Jerry, The sidescreens are aftermarket screens sold by Amco, JC Whitney, etc. in the 60's. The retainer clips are available from Todd Clarke. He also has replacement rubber for those sidescreens. Jim |

Jerry, They look like they could be midget/Sprite ones. David |

Thanks for the information. I'll check Tod Clark's catalog. Can't emagine what I'll do with the side curtains. |

The two holes in the frame near the curved section are where the windscreen pillar clip (referred to above) should be riveted. Regards, Peter. |
