MG MGA - Smart battery charger

I went to use my Ring Smart charger today that I bought over 10 years ago. But it looks like it needs replacing.
I see there are many smart chargers available these days, it used to be just Ring and CTek, and the prices vary very substantially. So does anyone have any recomendations - or any warnings that I should look out for?
Thanks
Graham V

I bought one of the generic chargers from Amazon described as:

"6A Car battery charger, 6A 12V Car Battery Smart Charger,Automotive Smart Portable Battery Charger Maintainer/Pulse Repair Charger Pack With LCD display"

I have had it for about a year and it seems to work well but I have no idea if the Pulse Repair Function actually does anything useful.

Mine is from a company with the strange name of husgw but they seem to be sold under lots of weird names so presumably come out of the same factory in China. The one I bought is currectly offered at £11.99

I've been very pleased with my AA battery charger. You do not need to join them to buy one. I think I got it in my local hardware store - John Dyas.

I think it comes with a cigarette adapter option via a supplied adapter switch so I can use either it or clamps. Unless I used the switch from a previous charger!

Thanks for your feedback
Malcolm, I looked on Amazon but couldnt see the one you mentioned. But there were lots of others that all look ok and very modestly priced. However I am a bit nervous leaving electrical devices on unsupervised for a long time, I know it's protected by the modern comsumer units most of us have, but just a bit funny that way. So decided against a cheap unknown brand, just for piece of mind.
And Steve, thanks but I couldnt find the AA charger anywhere. Of course googling AA battery charger kept bringing up loads of links to chargers for AA batteries! :)

So in the end I have opted for a reasonably priced 4amp Ring charger from my local Euro Car Parts. It looks pretty good although the instruction leaflet is useless and I would have been in trouble if I hadnt found a helpful youtube video by someone who had previously had the same problem!
