MG MGA - Smith's heater plate
Has anyone found a way to stamp the numbers on the Smith's heater plate for CODE, MODEL, and Voltage? Thanks, George. |

Send them to Todd Clarke he can stamp them as original. http://www.clarkespares.com/index.html Jim |

Tod Clarke stamps chassis/VIN number plates and engine number plates, not sure if he does the quite small stamping on the heater plate. I'll check it out though, thanks. |

George, let us know what you find out, I'm going to be needing the same thing at some point a long, long time from now. |

George I had mine done by a engraver with a pentagraph machine. Looks excelent and as good as new. Best regards Bruce Jackson |

I had mine done where I worked some years back. Alas, they are no more! The debossing of metal tags and ID plates is a standard process used by equipment manufacturers. You may find a manufacturer in your town that can do it for you. Frankly, for the heater plates, I'm surprised that the "usual suspects" do not provide that service. It is not like the car's ID plates where you need proof of ownership. |
