MG MGA - Spin on oil filter
I'm installing the spin on oil filter adpt from Moss.....can (or should u or not) u use the original oil pipe or should u use the rubber or braided flex pipe...doesn't seem like it's very easy to get the original one to fit anyway, I have tried...thanks, Mike |

Mike, Which pipe you use is pretty much up to you and what your plans are for the car. I did use the original pipe. Had to "tweak" it quite a bit (using a 20 ton arbor press) to get it to fit. Still, it works and looks great. GTF |

I just put one on a 58 coupe with the original tube no fit problems at all, bolted right up. |

Review original filter types first. See here: http://mgaguru.com/mgtech/engine/of100.htm The pipe used with early Tecalemit filter will not work, being too low on the output end. The pipe used with late Tecalemit or Purolator filters will work and should be a direct bolt-on for the Moss spin-on adapter. See here: http://mgaguru.com/mgtech/engine/of100b.htm Unless Moss has changed the design within the past few months, some filters may work and some filters may jam on the adapter.
