MG MGA - Spring help
Hey all, with the help of Barney's website I have taken the windscreen wiper motor apart. In addition to the brushs being worn to the holder, the spring that goes between the brush holders is broken. Does anyone know how to obtain such a spring? Thanks, Tom |

Our local Ace Hardware has a huge selection of springs. Whether or not they have the correct one for your brush holders is another question. |

Good luck with the rebuild. I thought I had done everything according to plan until I bench tested it. Wow. Ran fine ( a little noisey) for 30 seconds or so until it got so hot I couldn't hold it. I sent it out to Laurie Rhodes (he advertises in MGA!). Came back looking like new and when I bench tested it I thought it was dead only to realize it was so quiet and smooth I couldn't tell it was running. On a side note, I would insure it was working perfectly before installing. Once installed it will be a real bugger to remove with the master cylinder in the way. Cheers. Larry |
