MG MGA - Starter motor
Just fitted one of these refurbished Japanese starters. Fitted in OK and works well - zings over much faster than the original Lucas and sounds tight. I didn't ask about a guarantee but it came from a member of the local club who supplies to order. Barry |

I just fitted a high-torque starter too. Mail-ordered from Britishstarters.com The old starter motor was too weak to turn the engine round at sufficient speed (I have an 1800 fitted with an increased C.R. The new one is brilliant! Huib |

Went off in tha "A" for my cross country run (on foot, with Hash House Harriers) Wednesday and on the way home at 10pm. ran out of power. With a mate, stranded on a country road, checked all the usual things in the dark - no power at all, battery dead as!! Finally pushed it to a nearby house and phoned home for a lift. Next day took the battery back to point of supply - checked out perfectly - just dead flat!! Back to the "A" and finally found the wire to the generator had been dislodged!! Bloody idiot!! Could have fixed it in a second - if I had found it in the dark. We live and learn! Barry |
