MG MGA - Steve Simmons and Magazine fame!
Hi Folks. I just received my copy of British Motoring magazine, which is published by Moss Motors. Inside is a very nice article about our BBS's Steve and Linda Simmons, and their excellent fleet of MG vehicles. The Magazine cover shows the Simmon's Beautiful MGTC, and their very original MG YB Saloon, along with a WW2 Spitfire fighter aircraft! The photography is beautiful, and is well worth a look. Nice vehicles Steve and Linda! Cheers, Glenn |

I recieved mine today also Glenn, but everytime I get a Moss magazine it looks like the Post Office does a number on the covers! Someone there does not like British cars. But at least the inside pictures were intact. Congratulations Steve and Linda. Gary |

Thank you! :) Our copy was pretty mangled as well. I guess I'll have to ask for another one. One of the photos that was not used had the YB parked in front of the Spitfire. The museum guy was REALLY nervous because one nick in the prop would cost something like $75K USD! I didn't mention that I was more concerned with putting a dent in the YB than a ding in his airplane prop. |

When I saw this posting from Glen I was worried the snow started early and we were in for a poem. Whew!!! |

Unless the plane is a nonflying hanger queen nicks in the prop are a common occurrence. Dressing, with a file, and repainting a prop is done as necessary and at each annual. Checking for nicks is part of each preflight. I think the guy was just trying to scare you into being carefull. I spent the morning with my son at Planes of Fame in Chino last year while on vacation. Worth the time and effort if you are out there. The one in Arizona is much smaller. Saw it when stopping for fuel. |

Steve -- my uncle was visiting when the Moss magazine showed up with your beautiful cars on the cover. He immediately got this faraway look in his eye, remembering when he was stationed in the UK in the early '60s and owned a TC that looked exactly like yours. |

RJ, the guy mentioned the plane is worth about two million USD. I was actually suprised it wasn't more! If I were filthy rich there is nothing that would stop me from buying an original, flying Supermarine Spitfire for that price... even if I didn't know how to fly it! Mark, how neat! You should send a copy along with him. Here's a snapshot I grabbed while we were there. It's my desktop background for now. :) http://www.mgnuts.com/temp/spitfire.jpg |

B&W nice era touch. Spit is gorgeous with those cars. |

Very nice photograpy, Steve. Hope they gave you copies of their work for your own use. Nice article too. As Good As It Gets seems very appropriate. I think we all envy your good fortune, but appreciate the generosity you have shown to everyone who loves old MGs! |

Thank you for the kind words! |

Steve, Congratulations to you and Linda for your success. I think that when you put in such hard work it is good to be recognized. The Spitfire is an interesting angle. Darts would have been good too. |
