MG MGA - Stub Stacks

Hi All, I have had a few enquiries for more pairs of stub stacks. This is no problem but would need to get orders for 10 or more pairs to make it worthwhile.

If you struggle to make 10 I will have a few. I quite often get enquiries from visitors to my website. I usually forward them to you.

How many did you sell in the end? I should have patented the design!!!

Steves a and g,
Would you put me on the list for a pair of the stub stacks please.
I would like to try them to compare them to the long ram pipes that I have fitted at present.
Will be interesting to figure out how to fit them to my carbs as they just have piper foam air filters fitted directly onto the ram pipes, but I'm sure I will find a way.
Cheers

Hi Colyn,

I have stub stacks fitted inside my 3" SU air filter cans with K&N filters - worth it!

I designed and built this particular stub stack with advice and guidance from a couple of the guys on this BBS. It was profiled specifically for our filter cans to get the air to turn the 90 degrees more efficiently. If you have a different set up then there can be no guarantee that they will work. Mind you, I am always happy to turn something on my lathe to your measurements.

Colyn...I always thought ram pipes were contoured to allow efficient airflow into the carbs if so then stub stacks will not do anything ( and not sure how you would fit !).

The ram pipes on my carbs are about 3 inches long with trumpet like flared ends and I have to use Piper sock style air filters on them as they won't fit the standard air filters.
I have never run the engine with any other set up but I was curious about the stub stacks and I was thinking of seeing if I could make them fit onto the open carbs to see how they perform compared with my ram pipes.
(not sure how I will fit the sock-filters onto them but I like a challenge!)

Thanks

Colyn
