MG MGA - SU Needle Questions
Where can I order SU Needles by number? How does one tell if a particular needle is of the floating or rigid type? I'm tuning in an 1800 conversion and have "MB" needles in the standard MGA H4 carbs. Too lean on hard acceleration & I want to get a richer needle. |

Joe Curto or Burlen, or from anyone who deals with whatever the particular needle you want fits. You probably cannot get all of them anywhere. Most if not all of the spring biased needles are three letters starting with A; two letter, three letter not starting with A, numbered, or number and letter are fixed needles. Start with standard needle for early B = #5 or FX; #6 is the "rich" needle, and a number of people on this board have reported it as too rich. All assuming that your engine is basic stock B. FRM |

FR, Thanks again. According to my oxygen sensor road test, It would appear that the #5 is richer than the MB in just the stations that are right to correct for my findings. Regards, Doug |
