MG MGA - Test drive
Now I have the lump in the chassis, the next step is to test run the motor. The body is a long way off being ready. I was wondering also if there was a way of test driving w/o the body (in my driveway)? The sticking point would seem to be mounting the pedals and the m/c |

Art just a thought. If the engine is completely rebuilt complete with installation lubricants on the tappets etc, is it wise to start up the engine for such time and wash it all off? Especially as you say completion is a long way off. I would have thought with a new engine you you need to give it regular runs. Steve |

I had an extra dash so I set it up to check some gauges. The heater core was tested to see if it leaked prior to install. Worked fine. Hope this helps.

Art, The brake pedals and master cylinder are mounted to the chassis, not the body. Mick |
