MG MGA - Thermostat or NOT
I would welcome opinion on the question of using a thermostat or not. Does it make a difference? And does location come into play as to whether one uses one or not?- I'm in Sydney, no snow or frost- just lots of glorious weather. |

Mark.... engines benefit from having reasonably constant operating temp. conditions and a thermostat helps achieve this by getting the engine up to such quickly after start up. I much admire your description of Sydney weather but dont believe you are quite yet on the equator and the temp often hovers in the 4 to 8c range overnight ( lowest ever probably 0c).and there is some colder territory inland ....As you can gather I have one fitted... |

Mark, I live on the gold coast and dont run a thermostat but do have a blanking sleeve. I dont really need the thermostat to help get the car upto temp. Once upto temp basically remains steady. |
