MG MGA - torques on wheel hubs and suspension arms

HI,
I'm reassembling my MGA 1500 with normal steel wheels and drum brakes. I found the install torque for the rear axle hub nut: 180Nm. But I failed to find a torque for the front hub nut. These bearings are not tapered, so I presume it is not hyper critical. Is 40Nm a reasonable number?

Also the castle nuts on the bolts through the links: I presume that should be tightened with a decent torque. What is a good value.

I was planning to first put the car on its wheels fully loaded with engine and all, and only then tighten the castle bolts. Or is that not necessary.

Paul-
Front hub is about 40-70lbft, wherever a split pin hole lines up.
Link bolts I do to 60lbft.
It is imperative that the bolt securely locks the distance tubes to the A arms, such that they never move, else it destroys the arms and saws the bolts off. All motion is from the bronze link bush on the tube, so it does not matter what position it is in when tightened.

Sorry, I use pounding feet and have not the convenient conversion to nanny meters and fig newtons!

Hi FRM,

No worries. I can do the conversion. The wrench has both!! I have to apologize from my end: The first 40 year of my life I've been unaware of feet other than the ones at the end of my legs.

Thanks again!
