MG MGA - Transmission swap possibility?
Will this transmission fit in an MGA? It's available for sale, and I think having a synro in first gear and overdrive would be great. I have a '55 MGA with a 1500. This is supposed to be from an MGB - "68 to 80" - that's all I know about it, except "worked good when pulled". JIM |

It's a PITA, but it has been done. |

Jim, If you're in the market for a rebuilt gearbox for an early 1500, I currently have one for sale (see http://www.mgexperience.net/phorum/read.php?42,1258167) along with the matching drive shaft (see http://www.mgexperience.net/phorum/read.php?42,1258166). |

Andy, Thanks...but I have a rebuilt early gearbox. I was just wondering about using one with overdrive. I will put the current one in and I think eventually look for a 3-bearing 1800 and MGB gearbox to restore separately and install eventually. JIM |
