MG MGA - Treat yourself for Christmas ..?
Spotted in this month's Classic Car magazine:- UMO 93 - 1 of 3 1960 BMC Works backed Sebring Racers is being offered for sale by DK engineering in the UK. DK Engineering usually specialise in top end Italian exotica, so I dread to think how much this car will be to buy..... https://www.dkeng.co.uk/ferrari-sales/834/blue_chip_competition_cars/mga_twin_cam_roadster.html |

I'll think about it if the Euro Lottery comes up tonight! However, first priority is a Spitfire - the Supermarine type not the Triumph. Steve |

Mmm. Nice. It would be a triumph if you bought a Spitfire, Steve. Shane |

A friend of mine, who owned two of the Sebring A's, just sold that car recently and kept the other one. It's a very, very original car. Just as it rolled off the race track. |

Interesting. It says it was brought back to the UK and reunited with its original registration number. According to DVLA, it was registered in February 2017, but it also says it is 'untaxed since 1/1/98', which would suggest that it was taxed during 1997. |

Hmmmm. Does anyone know what the red light on top is for? 3rd brake? Odd place for it. Also, a non-original voltage regulator on the firewall. |

Lights on top were different color for each car, so the pit crew could identify the cars in the dark. |

The Sebring cars ran RB310 Regulators, 3 coil units The light on the roof is a pit warning light used to advise the pits that the driver was intending to come in the next lap for a driver change, fuel etc The switch was located on the top of the dash Cheers Ian |
