MG MGA - trying to determine of these are 1600Mark II parts

I am trying to use a PDF file version of the 1600 parts manual that I found online (link from this board) to determine if some parts are 1600 Mark II parts. It appears that some of the casting numbers that I have looked up are not in the book (I have not yet tried printing it out to see if it is easier to read).

For instance:

I have a crankshaft with casting number: 12H429. In the book there appears to be 12H428. This is not the same number.
Is this the right crank for a Mark II?

My Block says:
12H423
It also says "1622" on the side.
The tag says: 16GC-u-H7074 (the H was not stamped).
Is this the right block for a Mark II?

The head that I found says:
12H432
Under the casting number it also says "AF1".
It also has "16" stamped on the top at one end.

My transmission has a bunch of numbers:
On the rear part of the case: 1H3274 (with "WAF" under it)
Inside the case at the end it says: 22H88
On the inside cover it says: 22H27
The transmission seems to look like the picture (different than the one on the 1500).

Is there a cross reference book that shows what is common between the different MGA models. This might help me determine which parts I can use.

Thanks.
I hope to get a printed copy of the parts manual soon. I will probably need to get one for the 1500 too in order to see if a part that I can't identify is actually a 1500 part.

Rebecca:

You should buy the book "Original MGA" by Clausager. It is available at many large book stores and you can certainly find it online. It is indispensible for a good restoration and it contains charts and photo comparisons of many of the changes from one MGA model to the next.

1622 blocks are all the same, the difference comes from the head and the milling of a hole for the camshaft gear for the speedo drive. If it has a hole at the back on the side where 1622 is cast, it's for an A. 16GC is correct too for an MGA Mk II

If the crank fits, it's OK. The casting number is probably badly formed and hard to read.

You can check more on the engine details from page 50 here:

http://clancy.ch/Library_files/MG_Engine_History.pdf

For the head:

Identification casting number 12H432 with raised #16
stamped at the rear of the cylinder head on the spark plug side is MGA1622
Combustion Chamber cc 43cc
Combustion Chamber Depth .425"
Intake Valve Dia 1.565"
exhaust Valve Dia 1.345"

For cross comparison, use the Moss online catalogue, but download the one at www.moss-europe.com as it uses the original part numbers, not the Moss US in-house ones.

Rebecca,
I bought a "1500" crank off Ebay, had it checked and reground 10/10. When I went to build the engine, this crank wouldn't clear the center main bearing. The crank journal was too narrow. Turns out it was a 1622 Crank, which I subsequently sold to an MGA racer in Conn. I can't say that a 1500/1600 will drop into a 1622, but if you fit all the caps the extra width of a wrong crank should stand out.
