MG MGA - Twin Cam Coupe
I'm checking out a Twin Cam Coupe advertised just now as fully restored, priced at £22.5K. Sems a bit steep for a coupe. Does anyone have any recent sales/purchase experience to determine if this is a realistic price in the current market place ?. From the few pictures it appears to be excellent condition but I have no indication of provenance, restoration details although I have asked for these before I bother to go and look at the car, Thanks, Robin |

Siggi, Thank's, I will need to find out if this has been a true professional restoration to justify the price. If any of the members are familiar with this car please let me know. It's for sale at Autoecosse in Broughty Ferry. It's been on their website for quite some time, which is a bit of a concern (price too high, something wrong with it ?) Thanks, Robin |

Hi Robin looks like a nice car, maybe you should contact Bob West to see if he knows the car and what it is really like, Bailey classic cars have had a red roadster for sale for ages which also looks very nice but has some incorrect items fitted such as seats from a coupe gordon |

Gordon, I've asked Autoecosse for details of the restorer and if there is a photographic record of the restoration. In my view, if a car commands this sort of money it should be 100% accurate. The pictures show the cylinder head and inlet manifold aren't painted red. Expansion tank doesn't even appear to be painted. Some might say I'm being picky but attention to detail doesn't appear to be very good. I'll dig around for more details in the meantime, Robin |

Hi Robin as you say engine not painted correctly also looking at the pictures of the inside, non original steering wheel, incorrect indicator switch etc, all minor points unless you are paying the sort of money they are asking when you expect it to be 100% correct even down to it having the correct original tool kit, jack etc gordon |

For that sort of money you would even want the original air in the tyres!!! Barry |
