MG MGA - Twin-Cam for sale
One of our West Lancashire club members has decided to part with his immaculate Twin-Cam . He is 80 years old and is feeling a little too old to continue driving it ( although he is still quite sprightly). He has decided to move "down south" to be nearer his grand children (Steve knows all about this!). Anyway - it is a 1958 model - Red with black interior- chassis number 700 so it's number 200 off the production line and a RHD original English registered car . It has been in his ownership since 1985 when he restored it himself and rebuilt the engine (he is an ex-BMC foreman/ mechanic)and covered around 27k miles since. He has recently fitted twin webers to it , but still has the SUs. He has also converted the rear lights to 1600 spec to incorporate the indicator light and put 1600 indicator electrics in -but otherwise it is original - it has a boot rack fitted but comes with the original painted undrilled lid. It needs no work at all- not quite concours but good show condition and I would value it at between £25k to 30K . If you are interested let me know. cheers Cam |

Hi Cam, Any chance of a recent photo of Twin Cam # 700 for the twin cam register, as the one we have is very old. Thanks in advance Mark |

Cam Is that the beautiful Twin Cam I saw last year at one of your monthly natters? The one that has the two correct spot-light brackets fitted at the rear for his fog and reversing lights? If so, the new owner will be getting a well engineered and maintained car. I wish I had the money - must go and speak with the bank manager! Steve PS. When I first saw the thread title I thought you were selling your brother. |

Hi Steve - yes the very same car - will be sad to lose it from our club - it goes like a rocket. "Twin-cam" does seem to indicate a close relative - LOL. It was the twin-cam badge that attracted me to the MGA when I was on holiday in Ilfracombe in 1959 - always wanted one ever since I saw my name on the car - but the price now is a little too high for me at the moment - although I have tried persuading him to swap! |

Well - the car is now sold - the money has changed hands for more or less the asking price and the car is off to sunny Queensland in Oz - to the lucky Nick . I hope he enjoys the car and lets us know how he gets on with it. cheers Cam |
