MG MGA - Tyres
Good afternoon, I just became the owner of a MGA Coupé 1958 with MGB engine and wire wheels. What tyres should I fit ? Henri |

Hard to make any specific recommendation on what to buy outside North America. But you'll probably have a better selection to chose from as narrow tires in a 15" size were used on a lot more cars there than here. Citroens, VW Beetles, Renaults, Peugeot, etc. Check to see what's available in 165x15". I do have friends with the Khumo Power Star 758 fitted to their MGAs and MG TF. Excellent value for money. |

I've had these recommended. I like the classic style tread pattern and look on the MGA also. http://www.vredestein.com/Banden_Bandtypes.asp?BandgroepID=5&BandtoepassingID=0&BandtypeID=17&PageID=2&Rimsize=15&UserSessionID=39968073 |

Pirelli does a 155R15, that retails in Germany for Euro40 or thereabouts. There is also a 165R15 version at about the same price. Check the local VW Beetle specialists - the tyres are the same as for the MGA I have Michelin XZX. Truly excellent, but I don't know if they are still available. If so, then I'd recommend 150% , gtreat even for the more sporting driver (a great compromise between hard wearing, cofortable ride and great grip in the corners). You have to drive like a demon to get them to break away in the bends. |

I can fully support Dominic's words. I also have the Michelin XZX. I like the classic tread pattern. As far as I know MICHELIN is producing them in Italy for the European market. You should get them in Belgium. If not, try it in Germany: http://www.oldtimer-reifen.com/ Robert |

I will look for the XZX tomorrow. Henri |

As I though, there's a much better selection at reasonable prices over there. Not fair! |

Come over to Belgium : we have also the best beers in the world. Never understand why my brother in law left Belgium first for the UK (he doesn't drive MG's) and now for Calgary. Henri |
