MG MGA - tyres and brake lock
Having dropped the front pressures to around the mid twenties the straight line grip is much improved. But I'm not out of the woods yet. I have a booster fitted to lower the pedal pressure and in normal driving , and even on hard braking, the brakes and tyres do their job. But a very rapid panic type stop locks the drivers side front wheel but it stll stops in a straight line. A chat with a specialist on weight balance at a local race meeting suggested that the car needs to have each corner weighed to ensure that there is equal weight ( pressure ) applied to each front tyre. I travel alone and weigh 90 klos, all on the drivers side. Do I need a crash diet or need to carry a bag of cement as a passenger ? Sean |
