MG MGA - Unusual wiper movement
Hello great MGA owners I am new in this forum. Actually, I am a new MGA owner all together. My baby is a 1956 Roadster in need of some restoration aft it has been stored for almost 30 years. However the engine is running and the body and chassis have no noticeable rust! Nevertheless, I noticed that the windshield wipers are not moving parallel but in opposite direction. In resting position, the wipers are laying in the middle of the windshield above each other. What do you think happened here? Thanks for your thoughts and have a very nice Holiday Season. Hans |

My guess would be you have a different motor than original. They should sweep back and forth together. Do you have picture of the motor you could post. Welcome to this forum...you will find a great wealth of knowledge here. |

One of the wheelboxes is upside down. See here: http://mgaguru.com/mgtech/electric/et113a.htm http://mgaguru.com/mgtech/electric/et113b.htm Wipers should run parallel, and should park on the driver's side. Wiper arms are bent different for RHD or LHD cars. Two arms are the same part number for one car. |
