MG MGA - Wanted : MGA 1600 Boot lid

Anybody know where I can get a bootlid - apart from the Moss catalogue, I need a spare?
Peter Edwards

Hi Peter. Check out ebay. www.ebay.com I see many MGA body parts advertised on ebay, and usually at prices much frendlier than Moss's. Cheers, Glenn

try www.lawrenz.de - loads of panels in his barn

Be careful on E-bay about shipping. I bought 2 deck lids off E-Bay one sold for $1.00 and shipped for $60.00. The other sold for more but the shipping was listed and the total sale was much less. If the shipping is not listed ahead of time it becomes a profit opportunity for an unscrupulous seller.

Always ask the seller for a shipping quote BEFORE bidding.

Hi Peter, As Glenn said - check out ebay - There was one on ebay UK this week, complete with luggage rack - good luck - Cam

Peter - try Bob West or Sports Car Metalworks (Mick). You'll struggle to find a lid free off corrosion, the lower alumimium edge corrodes along with the frame. I de-skinned mine and used a good frame with a new skin (Bob West)

Peter,

Although I'm in Bristol, my MGA restoration is being done at my parents in Ringwood.

I've got a spare bootlid (and back end) of a 1500. I should be back there this weekend, and Bournemouth's only 15 minutes down the road, depending on weather and tourists ;-)

It's not in tip-top condition (don't think there's any dents or rust, but not sure until I see it Friday night), but if you're interested, leave a response on this BBS, as my email is playing up at the moment.

Kind regards,

Grant

I worked with a Peter Edwards selling mg spares during the 80's. He then was localized by either BLOIS or VENDOME in France (41). Are you this one ?
Renou

Too bad you're on the wrong side of the Pond. I've 2 or three spares.

Derek, I have sent you an E mail re: boot lids...

Sorry could not contact you earlier. What was the result of your trip to Ringwood re the boot lid?
