MG MGA - Wanted, turn signal switch
Hi folks. My friend Terry asked me to post this message for him. He is looking for an MGA turn signal switch in working or repairable condition. His car is missing a proper switch, and has a non stock 3 position toggle switch, (on off on) as a temporary work around. If someone has an old turn signal switch they want to part with at a reasonable price, please let me know. Thanks! glennsmga@operamail.com |

Hi Glenn , there is always a repro one on ebay -at the moment there are two - they tend to go for around the £50 mark so they are a bit steep - not sure how good they are as they are made in China I think - has anybody out there actually bought one that they can vouch for? cheers Cam |

Cam/Glenn, I installed the Moss repro about 3 years ago, and it has not given me any problems since. Regards, Joe |

If I could find repair kits I would have a couple extra switches. Unfortunately I can't, so I don't. |

Glenn I am surprised with you and Terry. I would have thought that a yoghurt pot, elastic band, a candle, a length of Mig welding wire and you would be up and running in no time at all! Steve |

Hi Steve! There is clearly a very serious hitch In finding a used turn signal switch These switches are quite pricey new So much so that Terry will just stew Then, an idea Steve Gyles had But his solution was pretty bad Why not build a new signal switch An MG owner would not have to be rich Components: yogurt pot, elastic band, mig wire, and candle Sounds like something my friend Terry can easily handle Terry the craftsman can construct almost anything He is almost the MGA component fabrication king All he needs is the correct stuff Along with dimensions, this is enough So perhaps our buddy Mr. Gyles would be so kind As to supply the working drawings, to eliminate this bind Glenn |

Glenn You're back. The snow must be falling! Like Cam, I will keep a look out for a switch. I think a working repro is better than a poem!! Congratulations to Canada on your Curling gold just won while typing and watching TV. Steve |

well done with the poem Glenn - took you less than 2 hours - I am impressed cheers Cam |

Glenn - there is a turn switch on ebay now with 2 days left (ebay item number - 4616216376 )and up to £12-50. Cheers Cam |

Hi Steve. Thanks for the congratulations on the Canadian Olympic Gold medal in curling. Canada is doing OK, although the Men's hockey was a disappointment! Hi Cam. Actually the poem took only 15 minutes to write. My poems come to me quite quickly. Thanks for the heads up on the ebay parts. Cheers! Glenn |

The turning switch on ebay shown Made in China and just a clone But build your own is far more fun With bits around and job well done A yoghurt tub, leather and some wire Candle wax and a strip of tyre Unlikely to make the lights go wink But passes winter in a flash I think Glenn and Terry you built a good car But ignore my banter is best by far Let’s hope the thaw comes very quick And Lucas direct with a regular tick |
