MG MGA - What is it?
Wow! - what does anyone know about this? It must have been a very famous car in its day. Did it ever race? Is it really a Sports/Convertible - the upper body looks permanent. Is it the most beautiful MGA you have ever seen or is it desecration? Geoff |

It might be helpful if I put the ebay link on the thread!! Sorry got too excited Geoff http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=4650198249&ssPageName=ADME:B:EF:UK:1 |

This MGA Hawk is a well known car - it was even at Silverstone last year I think. I thought Bob West owned it. |

Well I have not seen it before and I was not aware of it being owned by Bob West. Had it been owned by Bob surely he would have had the engine running? I have half an incline that I know who is selling it, but probably I would be totally wrong. |
Bob (robert) I am turning? yes I once owned an MGWasp!! |
For sale already? That car was just for sale about a year ago here in the states, and bought I believe by Samuel Phillips. I belive he painted the car as it looks far nicer now than when I saw it for sale. |

I have pics of the mga/hawk when I went to Illinois to look at a twincam. I've forgotten the owners name. By the way, the most beautiful mga is the SRX-210 |

Fred Hmmm. A great car I agree. A unique aluminum bodied twin cam coupe racer with massive history. I had the oportunity to see Bob's SRX 210 alongside MBL 867 (MaBeL) at the Le Mans re-enactment last year. For me it's a close run thing but the racing roadster just wins. However, we all have our preferences and I fully respect your choice. The MG Hawk in this post does very little for me. I think it is quite ugly. But that's what makes this hobby and this forum so interesting, with so many varied opinions. Steve |

It doesn't appear to be repainted, at least not very recently. Some of the eBay photos are older issue, as I previously have some of them on my web site, supplied by the current owner. For more information on the MGA Hawk see here: http://mgaguru.com/mgtech/variants/vt108b.htm |

I must agree, it's not as good looking as the original. I like the coupe (and of course, the roadster) better than the fastback look, and who needs 4 seats? But it's a rare example of some fine craftsmanship, if nothing else. I'll take a roadster and a Studie Hawk...and another garage, please. |

It's an interesting looking car. Sort of Aston Martin-ish from the side view. Sort of Jaguar-ish from the rear. |

Sorta Studebaker-ish from the front. |

btw, anyone notice the mga cowl vent piece for the blower intake. |

Does anyone know if it has race history? |
