MG MGA - What is this off?

Can anyone identify what car this spare wheel clamp is off? It came to me as part of a rig to hold a 205/50/15 spare in my coupe - it may not even be MG but if it is I would like to pass it on as no use to me. (Overall length is 6", width 2 3/4" and has the word "top" punched on the end near the hole).

It's definitely not MGA as you already found and it's not midget or MGB. It does look like it is off a more modern car.

Hi Mike,
It's a Magnette ZA or ZB clamp. Comes with a 5" long screw with a hook one end and a big brass wingnut at the other.
