MG MGA - Why is it so - flywheel ring gear?
A lot of MGA ring gears have around a 1 mm section machined off half of the the ring gear teeth on the engine side (see photo attached - MK11 flywheel). This step in the ring gear teeth is also shown in the cross sectional drawing of the engine in the Workshop Manual Page A5 (see pdf attached). Why has this been done? Mike |
