MG MGA - Winter lay up effects
What is it about winter lay up that effects car tuning? I had the car well tuned last season. After fixing my bits and pieces, I started it up for the first time and after warm up it was galloping at idle. Sigh...back at it. I think the first stop will be to clean the air filter. Not that it will help much, but its a start. |

Tysen,
Sounds to me, you may be running on one carb. It could be a sticky needle and seat in the float chamber. Turn on the ignition, wait for the fuel pump to stop clicking/pumping. Then take a wrench and lightly tap on the float chamber,if the pump starts to click again,it most likely is the needle and seat sticking closed. This happened to me a few years back. I add a little Marvel Mystery oil to the gas. Half a pint for a full tank is about what I put in. Not sure if that helps, but I haven't had a problem in a few years. Ray |

Good suggestion. I'll give it a go. |

I took it out for an Italian Tune Up and it seems much better. It still seems to gallop when the temp is under 160. |

Stuck choke? |

Try putting some fresh fuel in it |
