MG MGA - Wiper blades and arms (Moss?)
Does anyone know who currently supplies the Moss wiper arms and blades? What is the quality like? How do they compare to the original Lucas Rainbow wipers? Who supplies be best replacements (Tex)? Mike |

All I know is that arms for a midget are miles better because they have a screw clamping arrangement rather than the MGA clip on. The Midget ones stay attached, MGA ones fall off regularly, particularly on repro wiper boxes. My Midget ones have been on so long I forgot where they came from, but suggest you ask on the Midget board. |

Being a long(-ish) term Midget owner and having dealt with many poor quality parts for classics including wipers I might be able to help but my info isn't necessarily up to date now as my dealings were 8 years ago. Tex even sent me prototype arms to try out but they just had a (over) stronger spring in them.
If the photos that Moss (UK) use are correct they're definitely not using Tex arms as Tex arms only have one rivet. The photos of the 8" "hook fitting" wiper blades look like they might be Tex (or Q Part, if Q part isn't MGOC only). Unfortunately, unless things have changed since I tried, the Tex products aren't great, razor sharp edges and the blades a bit flimsy, especially the spoon fitting. I tried some Q Parts (bayonet fit) blades from MGOC and the elements (the rubber blade bit) weren't any better than the Tex for clearing the screen on my car. Most successful for me has been adjustable arm (for length and tension) but I don't know make as the retail supplier is no longer in business and using set of NOS Unipart wiper blade refills (rubber element and backing frame/spine, GWR 109 (9")). I have a set of original triple arms with link if you need them. Driver condition. No unreasonable offer refused. Shipping may be prohibitive though. |

Never mind, I just realized I'm in the A forum, not TD forum. We used to be able to edit and delete posts. |
