MG MGA - Wire mesh grille
| Once upon a time, I read somewhere about an MGA that had a wire mesh grille. Does anyone know of this person and how to contact him/her? |

| Bob, Try this thread from the last year's archives. It has the info that you're probably looking for. Jerry "grill mods?" |
| Jerry Murphy |
| Rod Meyers has one on his coupe. I have a photo somewhere if you would like it. |

| This link is to The MG Owners' Club V8 Roadster Supersports and has a photograph of a wire mesh grill. http://www.mgcars.org.uk/cgi-bin/gen5?runprog=mgoc&p=emg/001103.htm A search of their website doesn't reveal it, but I am virtually certain they sell either uncut mesh in rolls, or actual mesh grills. |

| I have been away for a while from the website due to family committments, but it is my MG with the mesh grill. It is also now RHD, and back where it came from when it was built in the UK. It also has a 5 speed box, 1860 cc 18 V engine and supercharger, which makes it quite interesting. Next on the list is coil over front suspension. By the way the front mesh grill was from the MG Owners Club, but all they did was supply a piece of stainless steel mesh. Then you have to fabricate the brackets, cut to size and fit it to the car, so any stainless steel mesh supplier should be able to provide what you want. Best to go for 316 stainless if you can afford it as it is more rust resistant, although I believe that the mesh supplied by MGOC is 304 stainless or the ISO equivalent which is quite adequate if you don't drive on salted roads. | I'm also interested in one of those Mesh Grille's for racing I thought they were made of stainless. Does anyone one know where I can buy one ? Thanks <MARK> |

| Last summer we purchased our '59 MGA from a man in Indianapolis. He had a mesh grill made by Nigel Bloom, who is on a racing team in Indianapolis and fabs all sorts of stuff. It is stainless and cut on the diagonal and framed. VERY NICE I understand that he has since begun making grilles for many other models and I will try and get everyone an e-mail address for him. | Charlie, That would be great if you could find his email address and perhaps a link to what they may look like also. Do you know what it cost also? Many Thanks <MARK> |
| Mark Hester |
| Nigel has agreed to having his e-mail address published and he can give you a link to look at grills he has already done. Pricing will have to be discussed with him for I bought the MGA with the grill already installed. hnbloom@aol.com Chas. |
