MG MGA - Workshop Manual
I have been offered what I believe is an original Workshop Manual. It is a yellow stiff back loose leaf ring binder and as far as I can see it has all the succesive updates as well as the original pages. I have no idea of the value/desirability of the book but if anyone is interested I will follow it up. David Grahame |

It's no more valuable than printing one out and putting it into a ring binder yourself. And as the MGA manuals are available in multiple versions free online, I suspect it's not worth very much, although printing is not cheap unless you have a friendly employer. |

I have one like David described, that belonged to my dad. It's worth a great deal to me, but another one just like it, not so much. As a utilitarian object, it is better than the hard bound version in some ways, because it lays flat on the bench, and it's easy to take a few pages out to Xerox if needed. On the other hand, you have to be careful turning pages so they don't get torn out at the holes |

David, A bit like an original toolkit, or buff log book, I think they are nice to have as part of the car's history, memorabilia and paraphernalia, as well as being extremely useful. There are different versions appropriate to different models. Of course the later prints cover the earlier models too, but it is particularly nice when the version is period correct for the specific car. I already have for my cars, but depending on condition, these tend to sell on eBay for £20 to £40. |

I have had one a long while. Until recently I always took it as the bible. But recently I have come across a couple of things which are a bit odd, but as Barney said it was written in an office before many of maintenance tasks had been done. One is removing the floor to take the engine out! Paul |

Paul, you joke, but my dad actually did that the first time he needed to remove the engine, and only later realized he'd been had. He had to make new floor boards because even by the mid 60s, the screws were frozen, and he destroyed the original boards getting them out. Ever since he told me that story when I was a teenager, I've been careful to take anything in that manual with a grain of salt. |
